Slow-Cooker Hot Honey Barbecue Pulled Pork Sliders

INGREDIENTS

1 large onion, thinly sliced

3 to 4 pounds boneless pork shoulder butt roast

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup barbecue sauce

1/2 cup hot honey

1/4 cup cider vinegar

2 tablespoons tomato paste

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 package (12 ounces) Hawaiian sweet rolls

Optional: Sliced pickles, deli coleslaw

DIRECTIONS

1 Place sliced onions in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker. Season pork with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; place on top of onions.

2 In a medium bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, hot honey, cider vinegar, tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce. Pour mixture over pork.

3 Cover and cook on low 9–10 hours, until pork is fork-tender.

4 Transfer pork to a cutting board and shred with two forks, discarding excess fat. Return shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir into the sauce until well coated.

5 Using a slotted spoon, place pork onto slider bottoms. Drizzle with additional hot honey; top with pickles or coleslaw, as desired. Place slider buns on top and serve.
